What We Do

Shoreline
Restoration
Our living shorelines are natural barriers made up of plants and other materials that help to prevent erosion and filter pollutants from the water. Unlike bulkheading and rock revetment, living shorelines allow wildlife, including Maryland terrapins, to access their nesting grounds and other natural habitat.

Conservation Aquaculture
Our approach to improving water quality and promoting a healthier ecosystem involves growing oysters without harvesting them for consumption. Oysters are natural filter feeders and help remove pollutants and excess nutrients from the water. One oyster filters fifty gallons of water per day!

Raising
Awareness
Our public outreach is intended to raise environmental awareness of the importance of saving our barrier islands and foster responsibility for nature. By empowering local stakeholders, we strive to inspire action and strengthen community commitment to preserving our natural resources.
